Art Painted in Light
ALAgrApHY paints surreal, conceptual, psychedelic and visionary artworks using fluorescent pigments reactive to ultraviolet light and, as he puts it, sensible souls. Each painting exists in multiple states simultaneously.
In natural daylight, the paintings reveal their surface form and composition. Under ultraviolet light, a second hidden dimension emerges — colours that were invisible become vivid, forms that were implied become explicit. When phosphorescent pigments are incorporated, the work continues to glow long after the lights are extinguished.
One of the Fluographie paintings has been acquired by the future Psychedelic Art Museum of Paris — a testament to the visionary quality of the work and its resonance with the tradition of visionary and consciousness-expanding art.
Daylight — The Surface
In natural light, the painting reveals its composition in muted, earthy tones. The fluorescent pigments read as bold, saturated colours — vivid but terrestrial.
Ultraviolet — The Hidden World
Under UV blacklight, invisible dimensions of the painting emerge. Forms, symbols and layers that were imperceptible in daylight become vivid and luminous, transforming the entire surface into something new.
Darkness — The Glow
Where phosphorescent pigments have been mixed in, the painting glows in complete darkness. The artwork continues to breathe after all light is removed — a third, ghostly existence entirely of its own.
