About ALAgrApHY

Following his exhibition at the Grand Palais and at the Salon d'Automne in 2018, Al, Alaa or ALAgrApHY, artist (painter, photographer and director) and scientist (PhD in complex systems, Data Scientist and expert in artificial intelligence, Postdoc in Paris 6 / University Pierre et Marie Curie ) is among the pioneers in AI-generated art. ALAgrApHY uses algorithms to teach machines how to make art. More specifically he generates mosaics made up of thousands of unique faces (of fictitious non-existing people of all origins, ages and sexes), inspired by his humanitarian project of 1001faces.org. His artwork “Dame Souriante d’ames souriantes” received the digital art award at the Salon d'Automne in 2018 and attracted many visitors at the Salon Comparison at the Grand Palais in 2019... He exhibited the “Collective Brain eXperiment” an interactive collective artwork, at the Gulbenkian Foundation during his residency as an artist and scientist at the Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciencia. He did his solo exhibition of marriage between art and artificial intelligence at SPACES in 2019. ALAgrApHY will be showing a new series of his AI-generated artworks about robotisation and transhumanism at the Grand Palais in February 2020. For more info: www.alagraphy.com
